Urban Forest Miracle

Wild Leopards Thriving in the Royal Pink City

Spanning over 23 sq km across the ancient Aravalli hill range, Jhalana Leopard Reserve in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, was historically the private royal shooting reserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur. In May 2017, it became India's very first dedicated leopard safari reserve.

In 2022, Rajasthan unveiled the adjacent Aamagarh Leopard Reserve (16 sq km), connecting Ghat Ki Guni to Sisodia Rani Garden hills. Today, these interconnected urban reserves shelter over 45 thriving big cats, coexisting calmly along the borders of Rajasthan's bustling capital.

Why Jhalana Is So Popular

Jhalana's compact terrain, established waterholes, and steady prey base make it one of the most accessible places in India for close-range leopard viewing, especially during early morning and late afternoon drives.
